As a school system, we are committed to creating and sustaining a comprehensive, coordinated effort to
improve the overall safety and well-being of our students and staff. To do this, we believe we must
partner with community-wide programs and initiatives involving parents, teachers, administrators, local
law enforcement, mental health and wellness professionals.

One of our initiatives to help ensure the safety and well-being of our students is to provide ways for
students, parents, and community members to communicate a concern or a troubling situation
regarding the safety of our students and our schools. Additionally, we want to provide a way for
students to get twenty-four hour help and support for life-threatening situations. Given this, our district
has made available two anonymous reporting helplines.
The first helpline, which became active at the beginning of this school year is the Safe School Helpline.
The Safe School helpline is a convenient, confidential way for anyone to report information about
situations that may affect safety at our school. The 24-hour helpline is available to take calls regarding
concerns about unsafe or potentially disruptive activities or situations including drug or alcohol abuse,
weapons, harassment, bullying or threats. Most importantly, the call center is staffed by qualified
individuals trained to appropriately receive information. The call center is able to then assess the
situation and, when appropriate, make direct contact, at any time of the day or night, with school
administrators, local agencies, and law enforcement. Information can be found at the following site:

PA law Act 44, teaches students, teachers, and administrators how to recognize warning signs and
signals of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and Say Something to a trusted adult
OR use its anonymous reporting system. Students will receive training in the next month. Information
